The Peekskill Art Community offers visitors a wide range of choices including furniture designers, musical instrument makers, dancers, video artists, painters, sculptors, and photographers. Many of their works can be seen in the city’s numerous galleries. Peekskill’s pedestrian friendly Historic Downtown District is also to home to a number of permanent public art installations, sculptures, and murals. The Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art located just outside downtown offers it patrons some of the most exciting contemporary exhibits and installations in the metropolitan region. The downtown also includes a number of top rated restaurants, small shops, and boutiques. After spending a day viewing the local art scene, take in a show at the majestic Paramount Center for the Arts a 1,025 seat theatre offering live music, drama, dance, and movies.
